Preparation Steps
- Soak the Mustard Seeds: In a medium bowl, combine yellow and brown mustard seeds with enough water and apple cider vinegar to cover them. Soak for 12 to 24 hours.
- Prepare the Spice Blend: Mix paprika, cayenne pepper, turmeric, and salt in a separate bowl until well combined.
- Add Sweetener to the Spice Mix: Incorporate honey or brown sugar into the spice mixture just before combining.
- Cook the Mustard Mixture: Drain soaked seeds and put them in a saucepan with vinegar mixture and spice blend. Cook over medium-low heat for about 10 minutes.
