Cooking Steps
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat, add chicken thighs, and sear for 5-7 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Transfer the browned chicken to the slow cooker and layer it in.
- Add soy sauce, vinegar, garlic, bay leaves, black peppercorns, and water to the slow cooker.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
- Optional: After cooking, preheat the broiler and broil chicken for 3-5 minutes until skin is crispy.
- If a thicker sauce is preferred, simmer the liquid in a saucepan on medium heat for 10 minutes.
