Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8x4 loaf pan.
  2. Whisk together all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large mixing bowl.
  3. Combine granulated sugar and lemon zest in another bowl, rubbing the zest into the sugar.
  4. Add the egg, vegetable oil, whole milk, vanilla extract, and almond extract to the sugar mixture and whisk until smooth.
  5. Gently fold the dry flour mixture into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  6. Toss diced strawberries in a small amount of flour, then fold them into the batter.
  7. Pour the batter into the greased loaf pan, smoothing the top.
  8. Bake for approximately 50 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Let the bread cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
  10. Prepare the glaze by mixing powdered sugar, softened butter, and optionally, heavy cream or milk.
  11. Drizzle the glaze over the cooled bread before serving.
