Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8x4 loaf pan.
- Whisk together all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large mixing bowl.
- Combine granulated sugar and lemon zest in another bowl, rubbing the zest into the sugar.
- Add the egg, vegetable oil, whole milk, vanilla extract, and almond extract to the sugar mixture and whisk until smooth.
- Gently fold the dry flour mixture into the wet ingredients until just combined.
- Toss diced strawberries in a small amount of flour, then fold them into the batter.
- Pour the batter into the greased loaf pan, smoothing the top.
- Bake for approximately 50 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let the bread cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
- Prepare the glaze by mixing powdered sugar, softened butter, and optionally, heavy cream or milk.
- Drizzle the glaze over the cooled bread before serving.
