Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, chocolate fudge pudding mix, sour cream, vegetable oil, milk, eggs, vanilla extract, and salt. Mix on medium speed for 2-3 minutes until smooth.
  3. Pour the batter into the prepared pan, smoothing the top. Bake for 28-32 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean. Allow to cool for 30 minutes.
  4. Poke holes in the cooled cake with a wooden spoon handle, spacing them about 1 inch apart.
  5. In a medium bowl, whisk together chocolate pudding mix and 2 cups of milk until thickened. Pour evenly over the cake, letting it seep into the holes.
  6. Whip heavy cream, powdered sugar, and chocolate pudding mix until fluffy. Spread evenly over the cake.
  7. Crush Oreo cookies and sprinkle over the whipped frosting for a dirt effect.
  8. Decorate with Milano cookies for tombstones, Ghost Peeps, and candy pumpkins. Use black gel icing for detailing.
