Step‑by‑Step Instructions for Garbage Bread
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper or lightly greasing it.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef with the diced onion for about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess grease and season with salt and pepper.
  3. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the French bread dough into a rectangle approximately 12x18 inches.
  4. Spread a generous layer of ketchup and mustard evenly over the rolled-out dough, leaving a ½-inch border around the edges.
  5. Layer the cooked beef mixture, crispy bacon, pickles, and shredded cheese evenly on top of the condiments.
  6. Starting from one long side, carefully roll the dough towards the opposite end, pinching the edges to seal tightly.
  7. Place the rolled Garbage Bread seam-side down on your prepared baking sheet. Brush the top with a beaten egg and sprinkle sesame seeds on top.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes until the dough is golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.
  9. Let your Garbage Bread cool for about 5 minutes before slicing to make cutting easier and serve warm.
