Step-by-Step Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine 2 teaspoons of fresh yeast with 1 cup of lukewarm milk and 3 tablespoons of sugar. Allow the yeast to activate for about 10 minutes until bubbles form.
- Gradually mix in 3 cups of all-purpose flour, 2 eggs, 4 tablespoons of melted butter, and 1 teaspoon of salt. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
- Transfer the kneaded dough to a lightly greased bowl, covering it with a damp cloth. Set it in a warm spot, allowing it to rise for about 1 hour or until it doubles in size.
- Punch down the dough gently to release excess air, then roll it out to about half an inch thick. Cut it into donut shapes using a cutter.
- Heat oil to 350°F (175°C). Fry the donuts for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
- Whip 1 cup of heavy cream until soft peaks form. Fold in 2 tablespoons of powdered sugar.
- Fill each donut with the whipped cream and dust the tops with powdered sugar.
