- Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet. Add 1 pound each of ground sirloin and Italian sausage; cook until browned.
- Stir in 1 diced onion, 3 minced garlic cloves, 1 teaspoon each of red pepper flakes, oregano, and basil. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes.
- Pour in 24 ounces of marinara and 1 cup of water or broth. Bring to a simmer, then add 8 broken lasagna noodles, season with salt and pepper.
- Cover and simmer for 15 minutes until noodles are tender.
